Shane Baptiste back from his holiday made 3 changes for the visit of Clapton; Bailey Brown, Ben Byrne and Normand Mbembi dropping out – with Kai Peters, Guy Kiangebeni and Georges Kebi coming in for them.

First-half goals from Jaedon Phillips and Luke Parrott, as well as an own goal, saw the Woods coast into an early 3-goal lead before second-half substitute Dimitri Christou added a late goal to seal a comfortable 4-0 win for Woodford at Ashton’s on Friday night!

Luke Parrott continued his excellent run of form as he netted his 8th goal of the season, whilst substitute Christou added to his tally after his return to first-team action following a year out…after the game Dimi spoke to the Woodford media team and said that “the year out was difficult” whilst also adding that he was “buzzing with the goal” as he was slipped through to slot home the fourth on the night…

Woodford dominated throughout the 90 minutes and looked in cruise control as they stormed to a 4-0 victory. The visitors hardly tested goalkeeper Callum McEvoy, who was more of a spectator on the night. The Woods also had many more chances during the game, with the best opportunity coming early in the second half. Luke Parrott squaring to Zee Lopes – who with the goal gaping – smashed his effort miles over the empty net from around 8 yards out.

The fans were singing non-stop for the entire 90 mins and Shane Baptiste gave them a reason to, he had his side playing football the right way and his opponents had absolutely no idea how to deal with it, Woodford making it look effortless as they passed through the lines from back to front with ease! Overall a brilliant win for the hosts, as they made it 5 unbeaten, in all competitions, since the beginning of October!

Once again, we thank you all for your continued support, last night was absolutely fantastic. Let’s hope it continues for Saturday’s historic game as the Woods take on Fakenham Town in the FA Vase 2nd round.
