Woodford Town are delighted to announce that Under 13 striker Sebastian Bixby has been signed by EFL League One side Peterborough United.
This is a testament to the hard work that has been put in by not only the player, who has scored 14 goals in eight appearances for The Woods this season, but also also to all those working with our Academy sides. That includes Under 13 EJA Manager's Nick George and Roy Roche who have managed Seb during the first half of the season.
The move shows the growth of our Academy in the last year. We have a new training ground for our youth sides, which was previously used by Leyton Orient's Academy, offering a number of pitches and great facilities for our teams to use. It also shows the developmental pathway Woodford Town offers for youngsters, whether that be a progressive move to an Academy or a direct pathway to the Club's first team at semi-professional level.
Over the past years, Seb is not the first player to venture into higher divisions having once been a Wood, with the likes of Luke May-Parrott and Anis Mehmeti progressing to greater heights. The duo are now playing in the Isthmian League Premier for Hashtag United and Championship for Bristol City, respectively.
Everyone at the Club wishes Sebastian all the best at The Posh. We're sure he'll live up to the challenges of Academy Football and smash it!
