Shane Baptiste's side have the chance to continue their unbeaten home run at the start of the 2024/25 campaign, when they welcome seventh-placed Athletic Newham to Woodford in their first edition of Friday Night Football this season.

Last season, when we met with The Kings, the games were drama-filled. We edged out our opposition in a thrilling 4-3 win at Ashton's, before winning by two goals to nil in the reverse fixture.

Having beaten Great Wakering Rovers last weekend, we entered the top two, having dropped out of first place after our first, and only, loss of the season against Frenford.

We come into this game still boasting the best defensive record in the Essex Senior League, and we will be looking to keep this record up and head to the top of the league with a victory on Friday night.

Athletic Newham reached the First Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup earlier this season, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Amersham in a replay, whilst they have also reached the first Round proper of the Isuzu FA Vase.

In the league, their results have beeb mixed, winning five of their nine games and taking sixteen points, but their matchups have been incredible close, with not a single one of their three losses ending in a deficit bigger than two goals.
