Following their 1-1 draw with Stanway Rovers on Wednesday night, Woodford Town hit the road once again as they make the trip up the A127 to take on 4th-placed Great Wakering Rovers.

The two sides have already met each other in the Essex Senior League this season, with The Woods running out 3-1 winners after a second-half comeback at Ashton's Stadium in September. An equaliser from Marko Protic and a 96th-minute winner from Nathan Sollosi either side of an own goal saw Shane Baptiste's side pick up all three points in a rare Saturday home fixture for Woodford.

The boys in yellow and blue are just two points away from league leaders Stanway Rovers and still have a game in hand ahead of their trip to Southend on Saturday afternoon.

David Gokou scored the opener in that one, continuing his great form throughout the 2024/25 season, whilst Woodford's defence has also been a major contributing factor to their success, with goalkeeper Manny Agboola holding the fourth-highest clean sheet percentage in the entirety of non-league.
