Having not played competitively since our narrow win over FC Clacton a week ago, we make a return to Essex Senior League action - venturing on a 72 mile round trip to Southend.

Shane Baptiste's side are yet to concede a goal in the league campaign as of yet, winning five and drawing one of the six games to date. A victory or draw on Wednesday would ensure we keep up our best ever start to an ESL season.

With no league game on the weekend, we hosted a friendly match against LMFC Showcase Academy, where we ran out 8-1 winners. Sam Sollosi made a return to action and scored a hat-trick, with Marko Protic netting a brace. The remainder of the goals came from Billy Karby, Nathan Sollosi and Andre Anderson.

Our opposition

Ensign have got off to a mixed start so far in the 2024/25 campaign, winning two, drawing three and losing one after six matches - they sit in 11th place in the league table.

When we last met with our opposition, we won by two goals to one, thanks to a brace from Marko Protic in this exact fixture.
