We keep our unbeaten run at home alive, thanks to a goal after less than 180 seconds.

A third-minute header from captain James Jewers secured the three points for Shane Baptiste's men, on a bitterly cold evening at Ashton's Stadium.

The Woods dominated the majority of the match day ten affair, and should have been more than just the one-goal clear at the break, having squandered plenty of opportunities.

After Jewers had diverted Josh Banfield's corner into the back of the net, David Gokou was slid in by Micah Jackson but his low effort was superbly saved by the goalkeeper. After 35 minutes, Gokou was involved again with his cross reaching Nathan Sollosi who threw his body at the ball. He got a slight nick on it, forcing the goalkeeper to spill it though his legs, and despite the ball trickling along the goal-line, it somehow stayed out.

In the second half, we continued to outwit our visitors, and were seemingly denied a chance to double the lead on 55 minutes. Sollosi beat Newham goalkeeper Custodio Junior to the ball, and it looked as though it hit his arm outside of the area, but the referee waved away any appeals.

With 25 minutes to go, control of the game was lost. The Kings were reduced to nine men, with the referee awarding two sin-bins within five minutes of each other. Despite returning to finish the game with eleven, they headed into added time trailing.

However, this is where the game took a turn for the worse. With seven minutes of added time being played, Emmanuel Agboola was deemed to have handled outside his area and was shown a straight red card, with Assistant Manager Dee Safer following him less than 90 seconds later, in somewhat harsh conditions.

Miles Mitchell-Nelson donned the gloves and went in goal, but didn't even have to face a shot, as after eleven minutes of stoppage time, the referee called it a night, meaning we went on to make it five wins from five on our home patch so far this season.

Starting XI: E. Agboola (GK); Owusu, Steele, Mitchell-Nelson, Martins; Jewers (C), Banfield, Jackson (Kebi - 60'); Sollosi (Painter - 90+2'), Protic (Charles - 68'), Gokou (Shilling - 68').
