The Woods bounce back in style, knocking Great Wakering off the top of the table after an epic comeback at Ashtons!

In a game of two halves, Shane Baptiste's Woodford Town side came out on top at Ashton's, in what was a rare Saturday afternoon home fixture for the hosts.

Rovers, who came into this match day nine clash sitting on their perch at the top of the Essex Senior League table, made the breakthrough via Ben Search with 28-minutes on the clock, and they kept that slender lead as the two teams headed in for a breather at half-time.

However, the second half would be an entirely different story. 10-minutes after the interval, Marko Protic continued his excellent week, as he fired home an equaliser, making it three goals in two games for the striker.

Just 5 minutes later, on the hour mark, the electrifying comeback was complete, as an own goal gave Woodford the lead. With the visitors pushing on in search for a late equaliser, we ended all hope in the sixth minute of stoppage time, as Nathan Sollosi, who was rested in midweek, scored a third to seal the tie.

Starrting XI: Agboola (GK); Johnston, Kirwan-Meade, Mitchell-Nelson, Martins; Jewers (C), Owusu, Banfield; Sollosi, Protic, Gokou.

Substitutes: Steele, Kebi, Jackson, Painter, Shilling.
