After a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, penalties were to settle Woodford Town's London FA Senior Cup Third Round clash with fellow step 5 side Tooting and Mitcham United.
A blistering start saw Josh Banfield's corner headed home by Miles Mitchell-Nelson to give Shane Baptiste's side the lead after just 8 minutes.
Micah Jackson was causing chaos up front and struck a long-range effort just over the bar before he teed up David Gokou after a sensational move, but our winger was unable to find the back of the net from just seven yards out. Gokou and Banfield then came close to finding the target as Jackson hit the bar from an extreme angle on the half-volley, as The Woods pushed for a second.
The game was very much a tale of two halves, as defender Eli Benoit highlighted in his post-match interview. Tooting came out on top and found an equaliser with fourteen minutes to go through Tariq Mahmoud, setting up a penalty shootout to decide who would face Hanwell Town in the Quarter Final.
Substitutes Ernest Okoh, Bruno Gomes and Nathan Sollosi alll buried their penalties, as did Josh Banfield, but Conor Tyrell saw his spot-kick saved, allowing the visitors to wrap up the shootout with a 100% record as they won 5-4.
Starting XI: Allan (GK); Mitchell-Nelson (Tyrell - 73'), Benoit, Omope, Harbrow; Owusu (C - Steele - 54')), Banfield, Kebi; Angelov (Sollosi - 54), Jackson (Gomes - 73'), Gokou. (Okoh - 54').
