Despite falling behind after just eight minutes through Anderson Silva Baro's strike, Woodford Town regained their composure to produce a thrilling comeback away against Athletic Newham at the Bobby Moore Sports Hub.
After Micah Jackon's equaliser in the 21st minute, a goal from Luke Steele and a first Woodford goal for Max Harbrow saw the visitors lead by two at the half-time whistle and a lightning quick start after the interval saw The Woods in the clear after just 53 minutes. Another defender found themselves on the scoresheet, with Miles Mitchell-Nelson making it four, before Ernest Okoh added a fifth.
With another game on the horizon on Wednesday night, Shane Baptiste opted to ring the changes with the three points now undoubtedly in sight, but that didn't deter Woodford from continuing their scoring form. Just eight minutes after coming on, Jaydon Charles scored his first goal since returning for his second spell at the Club, with a sublime free kick from 25-yards out!
Fellow substitute Usman Adeniji announced himself to fans in style as he scored just minutes into his debut before Charles added an eight with his second of the game to round off the scoring.
